How do you feel about winning BlakINwite’s Most Influential Woman title for 2022?

“Firstly, I would love to acknowledge the amazing women who were running for this title with me as I was honored to learn how incredible these women were. I am humbled and honored to have a supportive online community who have been influenced by my work. I hope that what I leave with this world will inspire all in this generation and the next.”

In your opinion, what do you feel makes you truly influential to those around you?

“I think many view me as an influential women due to the immense impact we’ve have created for Palestinian lives, although I know that I wouldn't have been able to see it at this great of a scale if it weren’t for the support of the PaliRoots Community. To know that my influence on others is to create more social impact projects excites me knowing others who are inspired will push the agenda for creating a better world for our future.”

How do you plan to continue to positively influence and impact those around you?

“I plan to tackle more social change projects, outside of Palestine, by building more start-up brands. Besides my passion for my Palestinian roots, I also deeply care about women empowerment and building a safe space for women to empower one another whether through financial advice, meditation, self love, or motivation.”

Has there been any recent changes in PaliRoots since the last time we’ve interviewed you?

“We plan on expanding our product line that relates to all people including both Palestinian and Pro-Palestine Supporters. We are so excited to work with more designers and artists from all corners of the world.”

What has been your 2022 highlight of your career so far?

“Recently, we hosted a worldwide competition for World Knafeh Day. World Knafeh Day is an event we created with our team 5 years ago to highlight the uniqueness of the Palestinian food space. We gave away $850 cash prizes and being the most we’ve ever given away we had hundreds of entries this year within 48 hrs! We plan on going bigger next year, set your calendars for June 25th, 2023!

Besides PaliRoots highlights, I have spent a good amount of time this year working on a new brand, with my brother Hussein, which we plan on launching in March of 2023. Lots of exciting things are coming and we cannot wait to get our community involved again.”

Do you have any words of encouragement to share?

“If you underestimate what you think you can accomplish, free your mind by putting yourself into an environment that constantly inspires you to want to learn more about what you are passionate about. The first step to start your journey into your divine self is to start writing in your journal where you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, and so on. Get into the nitty gritty details of what car you’ll drive, where you’ll live, what your home looks like. Pull images, quotes, clothes, etc. from magazines or the internet and tape them into the book. This journal is a reminder of what you want for yourself and allows you to fully visualize your future self. Do this exercise when you find yourself in a spiral and bounce back!”
