They say that our energy should be treated like currency. We should spend it on what makes us happy and not on what drains us.

It’s all about energy management. Being aware and balancing how much energy you put into your day-to-day activities. It’s about analysing your behaviour and surroundings, and taking steps towards a happier and stress-free life.
Below are a few methods that are helpful in managing your energy:
Analyse your surroundings and the people in it
If you haven’t noticed this yet, then it’s time that you do. Energy doesn’t lie. Sometimes, the negativity the people around you carry about themselves comes off so strong that it begins to affect you too. Take note of who these people are and try your best to spend as little time as possible with them. Train your mind to reject that energy when you’re around it.
Sometimes, the environment you find yourself in everyday drains you. Find an environment that brings you peace.
Acknowledge your triggers
As humans, there are many things that trigger our emotions and that’s normal. The secret lies in learning how to control it all. What makes you sad? What fills you with joy? What angers you? What drains you?
Acknowledge what these are – continue to do what fills you with joy, motivation and drive to be the best version of yourself.
Try your best to avoid situations (or people) that drain or anger you. Sometimes, these emotions can be hard to avoid. Try and find an activity that clears you from these feelings. (These can be as simple as reading, listening to music or watching something you enjoy or it can be something more active like exercising)
Set goals for yourself
It’s time to focus on you. Out with the old, and in with the new. What have you been wanting to do for yourself for quite some time now? What are your life aspirations? What do you want to achieve?
Setting goals manages your time and energy, as you will be focusing on your schedule and what you need to be doing to reach your goals. Schedules help us to feel more balanced and organized. You’ll invest your energy in what you need to do to reach your goals and make yourself feel better physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Take some time out to connect with nature
Get away for a few days when you have a clear schedule. Just like your body, your mind needs rest too. Go to a quiet place, surrounded by nature and away from the noise. This will reboot your energy and give your mind the peace that it needs for a fresh start when you get back onto schedule.
Focus on the positive things in life
We all face daily obstacles but try not to let it overcrowd your mind. When you really sit back and look at life, the good always outweighs the bad.
Focus on the little things that bring you peace and joy - a delicious cup of coffee, your pets’ silliness, the laughter of a child, or the sound of the rain against your window. Focus on your support system – the people who are genuinely there for you.
And remember that tests and trials are temporary. They are there to make us stronger for what’s to come.
You are in control of your own life. You have the key to your happiness. You can clear out the bad energy and make space for the good.
Never allow your happiness and success be up to somebody else.
